Strawberry Picking (& eating) at Spooner's Farm

Everybody knows that Spooner's has the sweetest berries around! We always looks forward to strawberry season and love buying our berries at Spooner's but we'd never done U-pick until this year. Some friends told us that it's a lot of fun for kids because the kids can eat as many berries as they want while we're out there picking. That sold me on the idea! My boys LOVE strawberries and can eat a lot! We decided to make a little play date out of it with Meagan & Ethan and Jodi & Ethan. The boys had so much fun we had to go again a couple of days later and bring Rich along. The end result was 2 happy, red, sticky boys and lots of berries. We ate them plain, dipped in chocolate, with angel food cake, made into milkshakes and even had some left for freezer jam. Here are some pictures of our strawberry picking fun...

My little cuties were VERY excited to ride the tractor out to the strawberry field

Here's Dylan, yep you guessed it, eating more berries. It's kind of hard to tell but this kid was red and sticky from head to toe.

Yep, Dylan helped himself to quite a few berries this time too

Dylan liked watching the tractor drive around
Skyler liked sitting right up front where he could watch the tractor the whole time
We bought some raspberries while we were there so that I could make some jam. Here's our raspberry and strawberry freezer jam all finished.
