Squirrel Watching

We have a little squirrel that spends a lot of time in our backyard. One of Skyler's favorite things to do each day is to "feed the squirrel". He puts a little handful of peanuts on our back deck and then he goes inside and watches for him from the living room window. He gets so excited when he gets to see the squirrel running around stashing all the peanuts that he put out for him. He'll watch him forever. It's really quite adorable!! Here are a couple cute pictures of the boys doing a little squirrel watching...

Trying to catch up...

Ok, here are a bunch of random pictures from September & October. I'm way behind on the 'ol blog right now. Moving and dealing with a whiny teething baby and a very active toddler hasn't allowed me to keep the blog updated very well but I'm working on it. These pictures are not in order but at least you can get the idea of what we've been up to.

The boys were sitting on the couch together and Dylan got so cozy he fell asleep on Skyler. I thought it was just about the cutest thing I'd ever seen!

Dylan was sleeping when we came home from church one Sunday so I just laid him in his crib with his little suit on. Isn't he precious!

And he woke up in the happiest mood!

I LOVE his big smiles!

Is that not the sweetest face you've ever seen?

This is how the boys helped us pack, they packed themselves :-) They had a blast playing in boxes!!

I think Dylan looks so innocent in this picture

When we were moving, Skyler rediscovered my Strawberry Shortcake dollhouse, that had been hidden in our closet. While it was still out, he and Caitlyn had so much fun playing with it! It kept them quietly entertained for a LONG TIME!

They liked peeking through the house and talking to each other. It was really cute to watch!

One day I took the boys to Toys R Us to get some diapers and while we were there we decided to look around a bit. Skyler LOVED all of the big motorized cars and happily went from one to the next, sitting in every one of them.

For some reason, he really liked the pink Barbie ones

The pink Mustang was his favorite because it had a working radio that played some seriously annoying music

We didn't come home with a motorized car but we did come home with a Lightning McQueen skateboard. Skyler loves watching the big kids do tricks on their skateboards. He'll watch them for hours and he has this tiny plastic skateboard (that came in a happy meal) and he tries to stand on it and skate around the house doing the tricks that the big kids do. It's pretty funny to watch but I thought it might be better if he had a real skateboard. I know, I know, I am just asking for trouble and broken bones by giving my 2 year old a skateboard. But look at how cute he is with it...

And Dylan likes it too!

So, this night I put Dylan to bed early and Skyler stayed up later with us. He likes to lay out on the living room floor with his pillow and blankey and watch TV with us. This usually results in him falling asleep on the floor and then we carry him into his room and put him to bed. Well, at some point in time he got up off the floor, went in his room, turned on the light and then passed out in his bed like this. Apparently sleeping with a bright light on doesn't bother either one of my boys.

When we were moving, grandma came and stayed at our new house with the boys so that we could easily make trips back and forth without our little "helpers" getting in the way. While she was here she took the boys outside to play and got this really cute picture of them enjoying their new yard.

Caitlyn & Skyler really wanted to be a part of the moving action so we told them they could sit on the front step and watch everybody.

They sat so still just watching everybody unload the trucks

Since we moved into a bigger place we finally had room for this fun bouncy horse that our friends had been trying to get rid of for a while. The kids love it!!!

I know this picture is blurry but it was still sooo cute!

The boys like riding the horsey together, too!

Ok, seriously, how cute is this!!

Dylan had his 8 month NICU follow-up visit recently. The physical therapist was thrilled with how well he's doing. He showed her all of his latest tricks including: sitting up on his own, army crawling, pulling himself up to standing, feeding himself cereal and just being his adorable, happy self. He also started this new thing while we were there, standing on his hands and feet, unfortunately this was the best picture I got of him doing it

Apparently Skyler isn't out of his 'drawing on anything and everything' phase yet. This particular day he managed to get the door, my sheets and comforter, Dylan's dresser and the window sill in their bedroom. Thank goodness for Mr. Clean Magic Erasers! Those things are miracle workers!

Dylan is following in his big brother's footsteps and becoming a little trouble maker, too. He was having so much fun with the T.P. it was hard to get upset. I mean really, look at that face, how do you get mad at that?

Our new house!

About a month ago my friend, Jodi, posted the listing of her friends house for rent on Facebook. It was kind of a lazy Friday for me, I was just lounging around the house and had nothing better to do than look at what people were posting on Facebook. So, even though we had no intention of moving anytime soon I looked at the house listing anyway. As I was looking at the pictures of this awesome house on Craigslist I realized that our lease was up in 2 months. I went into Rich's office and showed him the listing and said "It's a shame we couldn't afford to pay double rent for 2 months, because this great house is only $10 more a month than we're currently paying" After checking our finances we determined we could afford it if we budgeted our money carefully. So Rich called them up and we went and looked at the house that afternoon. Upon seeing the house in person, we were even more excited about it and decided it was perfect for our family. We filled out an application on the spot, got approved within about an hour, scrounged up money for the deposit that night and were moving the next weekend. It was all very crazy.

Here's the front of the house

(Our landlords have a little boy about Skyler's age so this room was already painted blue, how perfect!)

And the awesome backyard that Skyler absolutely LOVES!
We are loving this house! It's been really nice to have a bit more room for the boys to play. They play so hard they really wear themselves out and sleep so much better at night. It's great!! I'll post more pictures of the house all decorated as soon as I get pictures hung on the walls.
