Skyler LOVES his Daddy and tries so hard to be just like him. If Rich is in the garage, Skyler is in the garage. If Rich is working in the yard, Skyler's right there with him. He's completely obsessed with the lawn mower, leaf blower and weed eater and yet completely terrified of them at the same time. He goes out to the garage several times a day to make sure that they're still there. He is not so excited about them when they're being used though. I think he's afraid they're going to get him or something. Anyway, Rich had a good solution to Skyler wanting to help him mow the yard, he strapped Skyler in the Ergo. It was great! Rich got an extra work-out in by pushing the mower with an extra 30 pounds on his back and Skyler got to "help" without getting in the way or freaking out that the mower was going to get him.

It was pretty cute!

Several weeks ago Rich promised Skyler that if he went potty in the toilet he would take Skyler to the store to get a tool box of his own. It took about a week and then one night, all on his own, he decided to go use his potty and then he excitedly ran out of the bathroom and said "I get a tool box now!" So the next day Rich took him to Toys R Us and got him a really cute tool set. Then he promised Skyler that if he went potty on the toilet 3 more times he would build Skyler his very own work bench for his tools. It took about another week before Skyler had gone 3 more times. But when he did Rich took him out to the garage and they built Skyler a tool bench together.
Skyler was a good little helper. He held the boards up for Daddy. (Notice his little safety goggles)

He also helped screw the boards together

How adorable is this!

Here he is with his new work bench and tool box

Daddy & Skyler with their work benches and tools, working in the garage together.

I love how hard he's concentrating.

He also likes to help Grandpa in the garage

And he even helped Uncle Brian air up my tires

To be fair, though, he does spend time helping me put the dishes away and throw clothes into the washer and dryer. He's just a good helper all around. I hope it continues!!
