Random pictures of what we've been up to...

So I was downloading all of my pictures off of my camera and decided I should post a few of the fun things we've done lately.

VALENTINE'S DAY CRAB FEAST:
So I'm not much of a Valentine's Day lover, or rather I should say I WASN'T until this year. Joe and Corinne might have changed that for me. See I've always been stuck working on Valentine's Day, and in the restaurant world it's not much fun!!! Well I had to work it this year too but luckily I only had to work the lunch shift. So after work we went over to Joe and Corinne's place for dinner and a movie. They have a tradition to NOT go out on Valentine's Day, instead they stay home and eat lots of crab and we were lucky enough to get invited over for the crab feast!!! Now that's a tradition I can get on board with!!! I LOVE CRAB!!!! It was super delicious and my mouth is still watering as I think about how wonderful it was. After dinner we watched "The Time Traveler's Wife" and then had cheesecake. Normally we always have people over to our house so we can get Skyler to bed at a decent time. But we decided to try and take his pack-n-play with us and put him to bed in that. It worked out really well, he slept through the whole movie and dessert and didn't even wake up when it was time to go. He slept the whole way home and went right to bed in his crib when we got home. It was a really fun evening!! Here are a couple of pictures from our crab and steak feast...

"The Claw"

Ok, so this isn't the best picture of Skyler but it's the only one I got of him eating crab. He actually liked it and asked for more, he's definitely my kid :)

This 1 lonely claw is all that was left of the 6 pounds of crab that they bought. Yeah, basically we pigged out.

LOBSTER:
Rich went to the store one night to pick up a couple of things and brought home some lobster tails. So the night after our crab feast we had lobster. Man, I sure do love seafood!!!

TRIP TO THE PARK IN FEBRUARY:
We've had such gorgeous weather the last few days so we decided to get Skyler out of the house and take him to the park. We all had fun running around and playing on the slides.

CUPCAKE CRAZINESS:
I was in charge of making 48 cupcakes for a church event last week. Here's the finished product complete with white chocolate flowers on top.

I had so many extra flowers that I decided to make some more cupcakes for us.

NAKED BABY ALERT:
Skyler discovered how to take his pants off so it's hard to keep him dressed now. After he got his pants off he was working on getting his diaper off (he didn't succeed with that) so here he is sporting his "plumber's crack"

He's getting to be such a big boy, he likes to sit in his high chair now and feed himself. Here he is eating his grilled cheese sandwich.

What a little cutie!!! I sure do love this kid!!!

Birthday Boy

Well our baby is officially 1 year old now. It's hard to believe that a whole year has gone by already!! Skyler has brought so much joy and laughter into our lives. He is such a funny kid and loves to be the center of attention. He is constantly learning new things and outsmarting Rich and I, he definitely keeps us on our toes!!!

Our little bundle of joy 2-5-09
9 lbs 1.5 oz

Not so little anymore, now a big 1 year old!!!
20 lbs 1 oz

Skyler got to go to the Dr. on his birthday and get some shots. No Fun!!! He did really well though and the nurse asked us to remind her next time she gives him shots that he is "wickedly strong" for his age. We think that is a very good description of Skyler, he IS crazy strong. The Dr. said he is very healthy and doing great.

To celebrate his birthday we took him to Red Robin for dinner. He LOVES the Mac-n-cheese there and all of my co-workers love him, plus he really likes it when he hears them sing the birthday song so we thought it would be fun to have them sing to him. Here he is waiting for his dinner and playing with the crayon box. He though it was fun to make it stand up on the table.

We had a little party for him on Saturday at Grandma and Grandpa's house. My cousin's wife does cake decorating for a hobby so we had her make Skyler a Curious George cake. We went to their house in Puyallup Saturday morning to pick up the cake, hoping that Skyler would take his morning nap in the car on the ride back. However when we were loading the cake into the car Skyler took a tumble in their driveway and scraped up his forehead. That put him in a bad mood so instead of sleeping he cried the whole way home. Needless to say he was very crabby when we got to Grandma's house and in desperate need of a nap. So he missed the first 45 minutes of his party. While we were waiting for him to wake up it was a good time for others to nap too....
Funny thing about this is that we have a picture just like this from Christmas too. Maybe we can get one from every holiday and special occasion this year :)

After his nap it was present time. Skyler's buddy Max is 4 months older than him and way more into the present thing. Here's Max helping Skyler open his presents.
New PJ's from the Grandparents

A fun alligator piano

He also got a super fun bubble blower machine from Joe & Corinne, a toy phone and other clothes from Grandma and Grandpa and a dump truck from us.

Yummy Food!!!

Here are Skyler's awesome cakes. They came out so good, and very tasty too!!!

Skyler's very own cake

How cool is this cake!!!!

Watching everybody sing to him

Not sure what to do yet
Yummy Frosting

Mmm finger lickin' good
Ok time for a real bite now
He's got quite a mouthful now

He wasn't much of a fan of having frosting all over his hands so he kept licking them clean.

Ok now he's done.
He didn't get nearly as messy as I though he would. I think it's because everyone was watching him. Normally he loves to squish food in his hands and make a big mess but the one time it's ok to do that he didn't want to. Go figure!!

Here are Joe & Corinne enjoying their cake
We love you guys and your silliness!!!

Rich and Chris enjoying their cake. No, we did not run out of utensils, apparently it's fun for everyone to pretend like they're 1.

Since it was such a nice day we decided to take Skyler's new bubble blower outside and have some fun. You can be the judge of who had more fun, Skyler or the big kids.....
Joe attempting to eat the bubbles

Corinne running through the bubbles to make Skyler laugh
He thought she was pretty funny!!!

Notice the scraped up forehead from the driveway incident.

Helping out making a bench

All in all I think it was a great 1st birthday!! Thanks to everyone who helped make it so fun and memorable, we love you all!!!!
