6 month check up

Skyler had his 6 month check up today and he is doing very well. He's growing like a champ and he's so talented that he can do things at the 8 month old level. He had lots of fun playing with the exam table paper again. And one funny thing he did was growl at the nurse after she gave him his first shot. He cried after the second shot but was easy to calm down.
Here's his current stats:
Height: 27inches - (75%)
Weight: 17 lbs 10 oz - (50%)
Head Circumference: 43.5

Our Weekend...Snoqualmie Falls & Skyler's 1st trip to the park

I was lucky enough to have the whole weekend off so we decided to do some fun things that we've been wanting to do for a while. We live so close to so many pretty places and yet we never seem to go to any of them. We had made it our goal this summer to change that so Saturday we went to Snoqualmie Falls with Greg and Sarah. Eventhough the weather was overcast it was very pretty there. I was the only one who had ever been there before and I was a kid the last time I was there. It was the same as I remembered it but it was definitely fun to go and see it again.
We also decided to take Skyler to the park for the first time now that he is able to sit on his own. He LOVED it!!! It looks like we'll have many fun park adventures ahead of us.

Just a warning---we've gotten better about taking pictures so there are a lot to look at :) ENJOY

Museum of Glass Date

Last weekend Skyler and I got to go hang out with my friend Melissa who I hadn't seen in a long time. We had a really fun time going to the Museum of Glass in Tacoma. Here's a couple of pictures from our fun day.

Can you tell he's teething? :)

He's so good at posing for the camera now

We loved the bridge over the freeway!!! So many pretty things to see up there

My dirty little boy

Skyler is fascinated with grass. He loves to sit in the grass and pick the grass and stare at the grass. So today I had him playing outside and he dug himself a hole with his feet. I thought it was pretty funny so I had to post some pics

This is Skyler digging with his feet

This is his dirty leg after digging his hole. Needless to say he got a bath after this.

Trying to stay cool

I love the sun as much as the next guy but 105 is a little bit too hot for me!!! Especially since the AC in my car has been broken since December. Come to find out it was just a small hose that had been chewed through by a critter. My Awesome brother-in-law Chris fixed it today. Needless to say he's my favorite person right now. I am enjoying it being a little cooler today!!! Here's a couple of pictures of our best attempts at staying cool.

Nap time in front of the fan

Thankfully he woke up in a good mood after his cool nap

I finally remembered that we have this super cool misting sprinkler today. A little too late...... we should have used it yesterday when it was the hottest day EVER.

Skyler Updates

So a lot has happened with Skyler since we last posted a blog. He's just growing up so fast!!! One week before his 5 month birthday he got his first tooth and then the week after that he got his second tooth. So both of his bottom middle teeth are coming in. Also suddenly he can sit on his own, he babbles all day long and I have successfully got him sleeping 7-8 hours straight at night. Believe me that is a huge victory because he was getting up 3 times between 11pm and 4am every night. Now he goes to bed at 10pm and doesn't wake up until 6am. HOORAY FOR SLEEP!!!! But I'm so used to getting up 3 times a night that after 4 hours of sleep I wake up and feel so rested that I can't fall back asleep. Oh well I'll take that problem over getting up 3 times a night :) Below are some fun pictures capturing his new talents.

I had Skyler sitting on the kitchen counter while I was doing the dishes and he managed to reach behind him, move the heavy paper towel holder and unravel a bunch of paper towels. He was having so much fun I just let him keep playing with them. I figured that paper towels are cheap entertainment and it bought me some time to get stuff done. Hey whatever works :)

This is at the fireworks show at the South Sound mall where I was a bad parent and let Skyler try cotton candy. Of course he loved it and was a sticky mess even though he barely had any at all.

On 4th of July Grandma got this toy out for Skyler which I thought was still too big for him, boy was I wrong. He loved it and this is where we discovered how well he can sit on his own now.

Grandma and Grandpa spoil their grand kids so much. They got them this really fun pool to play in for the 4th of July. Unfortunately the water was a bit cold so the kids didn't last long.

This is a really cute water mat/sprinkler for the kids that grandma bought in addition to the pool. As you can see Skyler was not having fun with it and I couldn't figure out why he hated it so much because I thought it was so cool. Then I stepped on it and discovered that the water coming out of the hose was like ice. Oops :)

We did not plan these matching outfits but they were sitting together and looked so cute I had to snap a picture.

I always love sleeping pictures. He was being a bully this day and I figured it must have been because he was wearing camo pants and a rugby shirt. He thought he had to live up to his tough guy outfit.

As many of you know I'm not a fan of "noisy toys" but I finally caved and bought him one because whenever we go anywhere and noisy toys are around he has so much fun. And look at how good he can sit now.

He always has the silliest facial expressions

I came home from work and this is how I found them. . . . . aren't they adorable!!! I love my boys!!!!

Just chillin'

Our first tooth brushing experience. Gotta keep those pearly whites pretty.

If you look close you can see his 2 teeth. They're so cute. . . . .and very sharp!!!
