3 months old already?

Yes, that's right, Dylan is 3 months old today. Crazy! I have no idea how 3 months has managed to fly by so fast. I know I've said it before but Dylan really is the sweetest baby. He's smiling and cooing at me all day long and it just melts my heart every time he makes those cute baby noises! Here are a couple of pictures that I took of him today.

I love how he's looking out of the corner of his eyes. He's watching his cousin Hannah very intently.

Oh, big yawn....

I love these big smiles! What a little sweetie!
Tonight there was an Easter Egg Hunt at our apartments. We thought it would be fun to have Noah and Hannah come over and hunt for Easter eggs with Skyler. I think the kids all had fun. Skyler was excited all day to go outside and look for candy! He wasn't too sure about the Easter Bunny though.

He figured out what to do pretty fast and went running from one egg to the next quickly throwing them in his bucket

Time to crack those eggs open and see what he got

Some eggs had papers in them that said "Prize", Skyler found one and got a cool football

Cheryl & Hannah opening her eggs. Hannah found a "Prize" paper too and got some sidewalk chalk

Josh and Cheryl with the kids

Looking at each others baskets of candy

This was the best picture I got of the 3 kids together. Maybe I can get a better one on Saturday when we go to Grandma and Grandpa's house for another Easter egg hunt.

Spring Fair and Monster Truck Show

Rich really wanted to take Skyler to the Monster Truck Show in January when it was at the Tacoma Dome. Unfortunately, it just happened to be around the same time that Dylan was born so it just wasn't possible. So we got really excited when we saw it advertised that they were going to have Monster Trucks at the Spring Fair this year! Skyler absolutely loves trucks, cars, airplanes, trains, helicopters and all things that move so we thought he would really like going to see the monster trucks! We had a really fun night at the fair. We got there a little later than we planned but we still managed have time to get the important things, like fair scones :) Boy do I love fair scones! Here's a few pictures of our evening...

Spending a little time at the petting zoo with the goats. (Skyler still thinks they're dogs) :)

Skyler LOVED the cows because they were vacuuming them off and he's obsessed with vacuums these days. Today he's still been talking about them vacuuming the cows at the fair, silly boy!
They had these fun noise makers for the kids to play with. Skyler wasn't too sure what to do with it though.

Skyler got to dress up like a fireman and hold the fire hose

They had some cool old cars from the Lemay collection on display. Skyler really liked them. He kept saying they were like his cars. (I think he meant that they were like his hot wheels)

They had a free pit party before the monster truck races so we got to see the trucks up close

Skyler liked this truck. The drivers of Double Trouble are twins and they gave Skyler a post card of their truck and he held onto it and looked at it throughout the whole fair.
They were doing rides on this monster truck and I really wanted Skyler to be able to go for a ride but we didn't make it in time :( Oh well, he didn't know the difference and had fun watching other people go for rides at least.

In our seats waiting for the races to start

All the trucks lined up and ready to start

The races were so fun because it was a small track so we could see everything really well plus it was a concrete track instead of dirt like they normally race on and it was raining so the track was super slippery. It made things exciting!

The races didn't start until 8pm which is when we normally put Skyler to bed. He made it through the races but fell asleep somewhere around this point which is when they started the Freestyle. I'm not sure how both boys managed to sleep through all that noise but they did. At least he had fun while he was awake. And he's having a great time looking at the pictures and watching the videos of it today.

I thought for sure this truck was going to flip... but it didn't.

Bounty Hunter was the winner. He sure put on a good show!!

Some seriously ADORABLE pictures....

I just realized that I have been slacking on the blog again and I have a bunch of adorable pictures that are just dying to be shared :)

A couple of weeks ago Skyler's friend, Owen, came over to play. They had a great time together! At some point in the day I realized that they were being too quiet and I got worried. When I went to check on them this is what I found. Skyler's room overlooks the basketball court at our apartments and he LOVES watching kids play basketball. He gets so excited! It's seriously the best babysitter ever!

I decided to be nice and open the blinds for them. Who knew that watching the big kids play basketball could be so much fun?

Skyler has to take something different to bed with him every night. This particular night he took his sunglasses to bed with him and fell asleep with them on. What a funny kid!
And now onto Dylan, he seriously is the best baby ever! He's so content. He's a good eater and a great sleeper! He's even slept through the night a few times recently...YAY for me! I have to admit that when I was pregnant I started thinking "What did I get myself into? I've already survived childbirth and sleepless nights and uncontrollable crying and teething and now I have to do it all again. Seriously, what was I thinking?" Well none of that has been nearly as bad this time...we haven't encountered teething yet though. But I absolutely love having a baby in the house again. He's so loving and cuddly and I can not get enough of his chubby cheeks, I am kissing on them all day long. He is just the biggest sweetheart ever!

Look at those big eyes

What a happy boy

He has recently started smiling a lot and I love it!

I mean really, how could you not love looking at these cute smiles all day?

"Hi Mama, look at me I can sit on the couch like a big boy"

"Aren't I cute!"

"Uh oh, I think I'm starting to fall over"

" Maybe I should just lay back and relax. Oh yeah, that's much better"

7 weeks old already

I'm not sure how it's possible that Dylan is 7 weeks old already, but he is. I've been meaning to get his pictures taken before now but man the last 7 weeks went by fast! Anyway, we finally got pictures done yesterday. Dylan did great! He was awake and happy the whole time. Skyler was not so cooperative and would not let us get any pictures of him by himself for his 2 year pictures. We even brought his tricycle for him to have his pictures taken on and he wouldn't have it. The terrible 2's are not my favorite. Oh well, we got a couple cute ones of the 2 boys together so I guess those will be the ones that go in Skyler's scrapbook. Enough rambling, here's the pictures....
Look at how cute he is, he even smiled

I like this funny smirk

I don't know how he opens his eyes so wide

This was taken while Skyler was being bribed with "treats" a.k.a candy. Dylan looks startled but he was just fascinated with the lights in the studio.

Oh so sweet. Don't you just love their matching outfits!!

I know this is the same picture but it looks so cute in sepia too

Shockingly, we actually got a decent family picture in spite of Rich's inability to keep his eyes open when his picture is being taken, Skyler being a fidgety 2 year old who didn't want to smile or sit still or have his picture taken, and Dylan who can't hold his head up and likes looking everywhere but at the camera.

Just to prove that Skyler wasn't cooperating, this was the only picture that was taken of him by himself and he clearly has a mouth full of candy and is pouting. At least the other pictures of him turned out cute :)

Motherhood, it's just so glamorous!

Most of the time being a mom is fun and rewarding......and then there are days like today. My day started off ok, it wasn't until after Skyler's bath this morning that everything went downhill. After his bath Skyler decided that he didn't want to wear a diaper because he was "going potty" on his little toilet. He's never actually gone potty in his toilet but the fact that he wanted to pretend like he was had me hopeful that maybe he actually would. He played in the bathroom for like 15 minutes pretending to go potty over and over again. Then he decided to go running through the house with his bare bottom and made it to the dining room before peeing on the carpet. Oh joy, I got to clean pee out of my carpet this morning, lucky me! While I'm cleaning up Skyler's mess Dylan is screaming because he's hungry. So I get his bottle ready and get him fed, while he's eating he's filling his diaper which is actually a good thing because since he's had to be mostly on formula (since I got the flu and lost my milk supply) he's been having a hard time going. It had been a couple of days without him having a poopy diaper and he made up for it today. He had the HUGEST blowout ever! Seriously, there was enough poop for at least 3 very full diapers and the 1 diaper that he was wearing didn't even come close to containing it all. There was poop everywhere. I really didn't even know where to start. I'm pretty sure there's not enough Spray-n-Wash in the world to get all of the poop out of the blanket and outfit he had on. They've had to go through the wash twice so far, who knows how many more times they'll need to be washed to get it out. Anyways, I give Dylan a bath and get him all cleaned up and then I realize that I'm starving because I haven't eaten all day. So I make myself some lunch and Skyler is sharing it with me and then he decides to poop his diaper. As I'm changing him I look in the mirror and notice that I have poop smeared on the front of my shirt. Nice! I guess you could say that I had a very CRAPPY DAY!!! I think I need some chocolate :)
